Order of the Dawn.
The order was founded many years ago when the humans first learned of the existence of vampires, by an old priest, Father McCarty.
McCarty was friends with the first vampire created, Elijah Blaire when they were both human. McCarty and Elijah at first wanted to become Lycans, they were proud humans and fought for them. They wanted to be something for the lycans. So, Elijah and McCarty confronted an age old Lycan elder, Raul TsAko. They pleaded that the Lycan turn them into his speices. At first, the Lycan denied them, called them fool hardy. But they returned.
After many years of trying to get this Lycan to change them, he finally succumbed and sired McCarty, he tried to sire Elijah, but something went very wrong. Elijah's blood reacted badly with the Lycan, something changed in him, where he was past supernatural but not exactly Lycan. Elijah's blood boiled, it burned. The origin of why this happened is unknown, but many say Elijah went through death, died, and came back still dead. But very much alive.
Elijah at first, looked no different, but he craved something. He craved something and he didnt know what. It scared McCarty who was his Lycan friend, he wanted to help Elijah, but Elijah had changed. That was when he found Elijah devouring a body, blood, horrid stench and rotting guts were everywhere. McCarty was appauled. From that night on, Elijah was hunted.
And as years passed, Elijah tested himself. He was a smart man, he figured out he didn't die by age. He figured out he could get hurt, and he was stronger, faster. He also had a true form, which was a mangled beastly looking thing with mishapen wings. It had tufts of fur, it wasn't pretty and it had a mangled muzzle crossed between a mans and a wolfs. Elijah hardly went into his true form. He was hurt because of the lycans rejection of him. He wanted to be a Lycan and now they hunted him. He grew revengeful and corrupt. He would kill their whole race.
Elijah sired the second ever vampire through accident. He had bit a woman, figuring it it was easier and more satisfying to just drain them. He left bodies everywhere, he prefered the cleaner way of killing them. She however, had fought back and had bit him. He'd been so shocked he tossed her away and she ran off. He later found out she had become disfigured and had changed. She was the first Vampire Druidess. Soon the vampires began to mangle and evolution got them. There forms changed, they became extremely beautiful, honing in their skills of many other things. They became what they are now, with their rules.
And so comes the reason McCarty formed the order, he wanted to wipe out this quickly rabid raising of creatures unknown to protect the human race. Back then the order consisted of mainly warriors and priests that would knew so little of this bizare new race, which at the time they named the Vrykolakas. Many found this hard to remember and through hundreds of years it slowly changed to Vampires.
After many years, Elijah was killed by Father McCarty at the age of six hundred and forty-five. Father McCarty died then too, at six hundred and forty-seven. However, vampires still roamed, and this kept the Order in existance.
The Priest.
The priests have mostly been born into the order, finding each weakness of the vampires. It was Father McCarty himself that found out about sunlight being deadly to their kind. Over it's time, the priests have discovered other ways of killing the vampires, a blunt hit to the head. However many had rumours that a cross, or holy water would destroy evil in them and kill them. They always refered however to sunlight being the most deadly.
The Blacksmith.
Blacksmiths of the Order of the Dawn are talented men, they meld clever weapons, and strengthen weapons. A sword can piece a vampires skin. However a vampire can bend a sword. The Blacksmiths create swords that are harder to bend, or break. These are supreme swords, only to be handed to those of great talent. They have created armour which can protect them mostly from vampires attacks, just like any other armour, however again, the metal is stronger. But due to this, the metal is also heavier. There weapons and armour are slowly growing.
The Slayer.
These people, mostly men, have been gathered from the Magnas furthest corners. Recruited for their various strengths, speed, agility and intelligence. The slayers are extremely talented in killing vampires, having learned to corner vampires in groups, shatter skulls or force them into daylight. They mostly hunt vampires in the morning, using ropes and other such things to tear them from their slumbers and drag them through into the burning sun. The less experienced slayers are trained in the art of vampires by the more experienced members, of the knowledge they have learned from many legends written on vampires by men of the old age.
Ranks:
Master – an experienced and talented slayer that has retired from action and trains the less experienced slayers.
Guardian – these ranked people spend their time protecting and guarding the order, this rank can be chosen to be skipped by the head of the order if they feel the slayer deserves to be a Gaurdian.
Sub-Rank in Guardians:
Guardian Attack - Guardians mostly out hunting vampires.
Guardian Defence - Protecters of other human beings. They scour the cities at night times keeping the peace.
